Ten Things

1. You're the wiggliest wiggle worm!

No mom, I'm a girl. I'm Sofia.

Squirms likes to call herself Sofia, and the Great she refers to as James. Shhhh. James is sleeping. Don't wake up James. She even corrects me sometimes, insisting that her brother's name is James. Perhaps we need to take a break from watching Sofia the First.

2. My father has commented that I've been falling behind on the blog.

3. R won an award at work, for a paper he wrote last year. I'm very proud of him; and I get to be his date at the awards banquet this Spring. Over the holiday season he enjoyed several bike rides with the darling children, and he has been building model rockets for the angels to launch for Squirm's birthday.

4. I am reading through the Bible in chronological order (of events, not writing of books) which is pretty cool. And I broke my first string (the E string on my violin) this week. The dental work for my pitiful tooth should be completed by the end of the month. I'm also scheduled to be the volunteer mom tomorrow at the preschool Valentine party - I told R that sounds so strange: me, a mom volunteer at a school party!

5. The Squirms is wearing lots and lots of heart themed clothing in honor of her birthday this month. Thankfully, their grandparents and aunts are still keeping the children clothed. She loves to talk about rockets; is learning to sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star; requests to watch Curious George; and keeps asking me can I go to space? as if she's asking to go to the park. She will be three this weekend. And, from a play incident with her brother, has her first black eye (not too bad though)(also not in the picture below).

She has new expressions now when you ask her to Smile for a Picture.

6. The Great can run now. He still loves to climb and a ball is his favorite toy. He thinks I'm funny when I tell him no and his favorite game to play is called Unfold All the Laundry Mom Just Folded And Mistakenly Left On the Couch. He has been sleeping well, which is a very welcome change; and he mainly communicates with sounds instead of words, but he's very good at letting you know when he's hungry (every 45 minutes) and when he's lost a ball under furniture.

Always has a ball in his hand.

7. Did I post that Auntie H came to visit us at the end of January? Her niece and nephew had a lovely time crawling all over her....and she promptly got sick as soon as she returned home. She went with us on a trip to Kennedy Space Center....I wonder if I should post the video of her sliding down the giant slide at the Atlantis exhibit since I didn't take any photos with our nice camera.

8. I've been working on a list of things I like about central Florida. So far I have: the views of the sky; Squirm's preschool teacher; jogging in February in shorts; my violin instructor; and birds.

9. We are hoping to take a trip North in early Spring - to visit EJC, our newest cousin, and to join the Annual Family Camping Trip! R is planning to take the canoe. We are so excited at the thought of Georgia, hiking, canoeing, Grandpa's jokes, and campfires. And of course, all the family members that will want to spend time with our children while I nap.

10. I'll try to use our camera more often. I've been lazy about taking pictures.
