Thankful

I've read Band of Brothers, The Hiding Place, King Kaiser Tsar, 1776, To Hell and Back, All Quiet on the Western Front, Night, and In the Garden of Beasts.

I'm in the middle of John Adams; and D-Day and Washington are on my list of books to read.

I've watched Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, some of The Pacific, and most anything else the History Channel produced about WWII.

I've walked the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and World War II Memorial on our National Mall.

But I've never been there.

And I'm so thankful for those who have. Thankful for my grandfathers, uncles, and cousin. For the Auburn ROTC students I knew. For the service men and women who stood in church today and let us pray for them. For the people I'll never meet who have served our country.
