Ten Things

1. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/garlic-roasted-potatoes-recipe.html Delicious.

2. Squirms has began asking "how'd that happen?". This question applies to pretty much everything: the fish swallowing Jonah in the Veggie Tales cartoon; smoke coming from a chimney; a spinning propeller; her little brother's bowl of cauliflower on the floor. At first we thought it was really cute. Now I'm finding some of the answers difficult - how exactly does the smoke go up the chimney from a fire....

3. Yesterday I began packing for our upcoming trip to Alabama, and camping in Georgia. Today I got to get these down from the closet. Hello old friends, I've missed you.

4. I've been doing some soul searching about my desperation to move from central Florida. It has occurred to me that I often sleep with an electric blanket (my side of the bed only) plus a down comforter. And I like to drink hot cocoa at night. Is it 80 degrees outside? Yes. I always want hot cocoa. R insists that I have a medical condition involving circulation that I'm refusing to admit.

5. Actually. I just realized that I'm wearing a sweat shirt and sitting under a blanket.

6. The Great has been happily looking through books this week, searching for balls and tractors (track-tors = tractors, cars, trucks, construction equipment, and trains). He gets so happy when he finds a soccer ball on a page, or a road paver.

7. I haven't bought cookies in a couple of weeks. R and I are having long discussions about what kind of dessert we have ingredients to make while staring into the pantry looking for chocolate. Greek yogurt can taste like Key Lime Pie. Key Lime Pie is not chocolate.

8. We are going to a birthday party - for one of our cousins!! - this weekend.

9. New Girl episodes are on Netflix.

10. While reading a biography of Augustus I've learned that I know next to nothing about the Roman Empire.
