1. Squirms continues to grow in wisdom and stature. And to foil her parents' attempt to get her to go to sleep at night. The other night at bedtime, as R was tucking her in for the night, she tells her father "
I want to talk about Jesus". Yes, she was allowed to stay up a bit later and they read a story from the Storybook Bible.
Last night she pleaded from the door of her room, "
But I want more hugs and kisses! Hugs and Kisses!" Yes, R went back in to give more hugs and kisses.
2. Auntie H made it to our new home to visit this weekend. She brought a Thomas the Train lunch box for the Great that has been a highly coveted item in our house this week. She also took Squirms for a hair cut.
3. My sisters and I were able to go to the Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood concert in Birmingham this past Friday night. We love both of their music, and L especially was obsessed with Garth when we were kids - she used to make us watch a VHS tape of one of his concerts over and over and over, while she danced in front of the television. We were pretty excited about seeing Garth and Trisha in person; and the concert lived up to expectations. It's actually really fun to go to a concert when you know all the words to all the songs. Also. I bought a Garth t-shirt that looks like it was designed in 1991. It's pretty awesome.
4. Quotes from Friday night. L "I'm going to punch that limo driver in the face."
H "K! You're throwing gang signs. Stop. You can dance, but don't do that with your hands!"
5. The Great's favorite toy right now is the Train. He carries Thomas the Train everywhere he goes, and has been sleeping with it this week. While he occasionally can be distracted to play with a ball, his main focus is the trains. R builds the kids a track each night and as soon as the Great is put down from his crib and diaper change in the morning, he runs to the track to play. I'm impressed by the focus shown by this little boy.
6. Martha has some lovely fruit salad recipes.

7. Our current back yard has red dirt. The dogs are really enjoying digging in it, and so is Squirms.

8. We are experiencing our first virus since moving. It's not great. But, we had gone over six weeks without getting sick and that is a new record for us!
9. Pure Barre class. What can I say?
It doesn't help my self esteem to work out in front of wall mirrors while wearing tights.
When I walk through the parking lot to the studio, all I can think about is a friend from Central Florida (who now lives in Lovely Auburn) saying "tights are not pants."
The instructors say encouraging things to me like "awesome shaking" while I attempt to hold a pose.
It's one of the most physically difficult things I've tried. And I pretty much love it.
10. I should be ironing clothes.
